Virgin Australia opens new Perth Terminal 2 airport lounge

Virgin Australia has opened a second lounge at Perth Airport, in Terminal 2 – home to regional and charter airlines supporting WA's resources sector.

Just don't expect the flashiest lounge in the Virgin network – in keeping with T2's market, this new facility is built on the same 'regional model' as the airline's lounge in Mackay, Queensland, and has seating for up to 170 travellers.

While incorporating the same basic design and principles as Virgin Australia's flagship lounges, including the newly-expanded Melbourne lounge, it has a much smaller footprint and a more pared-back choice of food and drink.

Of course, it's not a Virgin Australia lounge without the toasted sandhich maker.

Virgin's next big play in Perth will be the opening of its all-new domestic lounge, which is scheduled to open in late 2014.

David any plans to upgrade the Adelaide lounge it's probably on par with the pics you have shown here and while not a major centre still has a lot of daily flights and the lounge is getting very busy?
