Virgin Australia opens valet parking at Brisbane Airport

Virgin Australia travellers at Brisbane Airport can now take advantage of valet parking and a dedicated check-in desk to speed them on their way.

However, don't confuse this with the fast-track system enjoyed by Virgin passengers at Sydney Airport’s Terminal 2, which whisks travellers from kerb to couch within minutes (see our report here).

Virgin's operation at Brisbane Airport, at least for now, is just about valet parking rather than direct kerb-to-lounge access.

It's open to all passengers and located off Chloris and Hibiscus Streets, and is easily found by following Airport Drive past the International Terminal (click the map below to enlarge it).

The facility is built at the rotunda located downstairs from but adjacent to Virgin Australia’s Brisbane lounge.

(Older hands will recall this rotunda was used by Ansett Australia until that airline collapsed in 2001.)

The fast-track service is open every day, from one hour prior to the first flight until 30 minutes after the last flight of the day. Valet parking starts at $55 for up to 14 hours and $65 for up to 24 hours.

If you're travelling light, with only carry-on luggage, you can check in at the valet parking area before making your way to the airport's main security lanes (also unlike Sydney there's no separate security lane here.)

If you have bags to check in, you can still of course use valet parking but will need to head to the regular Virgin Australia check-in desks.

These changes to the Brisbane lounge are part of Virgin Australia’s continued push to snare more of Australia’s business travel market, especially the Sydney-Melbourne-Brisbane "triangle" route which sees more than than 15 million passengers per year.
