Cathay opens The Atrium First Class annexe at Hong Kong Airport

Cathay Pacific has opened a new first class annexe of its The Wing Business Lounge at Hong Kong Airport to accommodate travellers during renovation of The Wing First Class lounge.

Christened The Atrium, it's a dedicated section of The Wing for the sole use of First Class guests and oneworld Emerald frequent flyers (including Qantas Platinum and Marco Polo Diamond).

The Atrium is located on the upper or ‘balcony’ level, to the right of the upstairs service desk at The Wing.

We snapped this photo of the then roped-off Atrium area during a visit to The Wing last month.

It's essentially a mirror image of the Long Bar section complete with bar stools, Solus workstation pods and an assortment of lounge chairs.

Cathay says that champagne, soft drinks and canapés will be served throughout the day, and of course you can also bring in food from the business class lounge's buffet or head to The Coffee Loft or The Noodle Bar (below)

Renovations to The Wing First Class are expected to take nine months, which will see the lounge open its doors before year's end.
