China Southern: Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights to London, Auckland in October

China Southern will begin Boeing 787 Dreamliner services to London and Auckland in late October, the airline has confirmed to Australian Business Traveller, with Vancouver and Paris tipped to follow.
Boeing 787 flights from CZ's Guangzhou hub to London will commence on October 27, with Auckland services following on October 28, some five weeks earlier than the Dreamliner's previously-scheduled Auckland debut on December 2.
(October 28 is also the start of the China Southern's Airbus 380 Sydney-Guangzhou service).
China Southern already has two 787s doing relatively short-distance runs from its Guangzhou hub in southern China to Beijing and Shanghai, and has said that it will also add Paris and Vancouver to its aggressive Dreamliner schedule.
China Southern's Guangzhou-London Boeing 787 service will initially run five days a week on flights CZ303 out of Guangzhou and CZ304 out of London, except for Monday and Wednesday.
Auckland gets a Dreamliner double
Auckland will see a daily Dreamliner service on CZ305/306 from October 28, also replacing an Airbus A330.
This will be supplemented by a second Boeing 787 across the summer peak period from December 4 to March 1 on the new CZ335/336 service, although only for three days each week. Those flights are:
- CZ336, departing Auckland at 10am on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday to arrive into Guangzhou at 5pm
- CZ335, leaving Guangzhou at 2.30pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to land in Auckland at 7am the following day
China Southern's 228-seat Boeing 787 contains four first-class seats, 24 in business class and 200 in economy cabin, making it the first Boeing 787-8 with a first class cabin, although British Airways is planning a first class cabin for its 787-9s due in 2015.
