Hi I am wondering if anyone has recently tried this flight. I am booked to London in late August in Business and return in late September. It seems I have a 3.30 hour layover on the way and a 4.30 hour layover one the return. Interested in peoples thoughts how to spend 8 hours at Perth airport ?

Thanks

Perth is not a destination airport to spend hours at, so if you can't request an earlier/later connecting flight to minimise transit time then just get comfy in the Qantas business lounge. You can however go to nearby DFO (2-3mins drive from QF terminal on airport grounds) and shop around the outlet stores to kill a good 1-2hours.

Thanks Dan22, I have tried various connections it seems the best option was to fly to Melb and pick the flight up there :-(

DFO sounds like a plan.

Cheers

You are lucky @ Canadaound.. I'm doing Brisbane/Perth/London in 2 weeks and have a nominal 6.5 hours between flights. Mind you at this time of the year it's probably be heading into a west/east jet stream, which I have experienced before so it could be an hour of so shorter. Your Sydney - Perth run could be a bit longer than you expect.

The DFO as Dan22 Mentioned is an option, alternatively, find a corner of the lounge, a bartender who looks friendly, and a book.

Swan Valley is only 15 mins max from airport. Even if you don't want to drink heaps of great food and chocolate factory.

Heaps of play equipment and space to also stretch out if you have kids with you.

Great way to kill time flight path is above it so nice views to. A smaller version of Margaret River area.

They are slowly increasing domestic frequencies so a better connection may emerge.

Not at all, Qantas reducing flights for upcoming quarter to help it's struggles with lack of staff, cancellations and to better manage.

Until Joyceee backs down and moves to join everyone else in T1 he'll be stuck in the old domestic craphole.

It's not too bad if you're in the lounge though, everyone else misses out.

They will only move to terminal one when they have enough gates built for their domestic services otherwise it is bussing people and towing planes around. Perth airport haven’t given a date on the extra gates for qantas.
