Just got my offer email for 30,000 points (Platinum). Anyone know how it is calculated or is everyone the same?

Like Anonymous, I am Plat and only got 15k, so I am sure there is an internal algorithm that calculates who gets what.

I am also Platinum and flown enough to retain my Platinum next year. I also got 30k - maybe frequency of flying has something to do with it?

QF has an internal customer value score/algorithm that is more complex than frequent flyer status. (I remember reading about this on this website.)

It's based on the quantity and quality of spend. This means a Gold who regularly flies on QF economy Flex fares could have a much higher value score than a Platinum who earns a status mostly through partner airlines business class.

I'd be surprised if this system wasn't used in some way to determine who gets what offer.

Well I've flown f**k all this year with only 200 status credits. But I have been Platinum for 20 years so maybe that's why. Would love to see that value score!

Here's an update. I'm only gold but my work colleague is Platinum. He got the 15K points, plus the $50 discount offer. Today, one of his employers booked him a return flight to Auckland (paid for by the employer), and they added his FF number at time of booking. Then he got an email saying "Congratulations on using your $50 discount voucher!"

So now he doesn't get to use it!

Sitting here on my alleged 5.20 departure, its 5.40pm and no movement in sight...

I am Plat, also earned it via my own travel on QF this past year, but no free points for me.

Maybe its because I have the temerity to dare to complain?

Can anyone tell me how the offer is made??

As a platinum, LTG and travelling heavily this year I have not received any communication or offer through my account from Qantas. Are they cherry picking??

My offer came by e-mail: nothing through the app or anywhere else and no points actually credited to the account yet.

  1. The flight promo code cannot be redeemed in conjunction with Qantas Flight Credits, Points Plus Play, Classic Flight Rewards, and cannot be added or applied after the ticket has been purchased.
  2. An eligible booking must contain one individual adult only, bookings for multiple passengers are not eligible. Separate bookings must be made for any additional passengers.

What a joke! So families who receive them individually, cannot use it. They are creating bigger issues for themselves.

An absolute joke this status extension. Anyone with an anniversary bw jan-june now has their status extended until 2024, with 40% rollover to take them into 2025, where as those such as myself, (JUL) who paid a tonne of cash to retain Gold have been spät on and slapped in the face. No status extention for us. Ie, if your anniversary is in June, you effectively get your status extended by nearly 2 years.


This is criminal and I hope the ACCC takes notice.


Literally nothing in this "apology" for me.
