Anyone have any idea on when Qantas will resume A380 flights between Melbourne and LA? It was rumoured to reappear last year in December. I've checked flights between Melbourne-LA and it still shows 787 for the entire year (2023). I plan on flying to Toronto from Melbourne via LAX in September and im hoping it will be with the A380 from Melbourne. The last thing I want to do is have to go to Sydney and hop on the QF11/12 A380 to LA when I could just do it from Melbourne.

The a380 is in the schedule for the end of 2023.
There are currently 6 a380s flying (VH-OQB, OQD, OQG, OQH, OQJ and OQK).
VH-OQA left Victorville a few weeks ago to be refurbished and VH-OQL left a little before that.
Imagine once these two are back flying they will be able to operate QF1, QF11 and QF93 but who knows.
VH-OQC and VH-OQI are still in the desert.

I think VH OQC is in Abu Dhabi ( I suppose still a desert :-))
