Hi All - have seen conflicting info everywhere and so want to be 100% sure as a US-based QF Platinum/LTG frequent flyer. I just booked my first ever Classic Rewards flight from US to AU, but was wondering do these flights count towards the minimum 4 total?

Thanks in advance and safe travels ..

Going to have to be the bearer of bad news - the Terms are not in your favour. Pulling out some relevant clauses below:

<<<

Starting at the definitions section:

'Eligible Flight' has the meaning given in clause 9.3.1;

Then going to that reference point:

9.3.1 Subject to the exclusions in clauses 9.3.2 and 9.4, Qantas Points for air travel may be earned only for paid travel or Points Plus Pay - Flights (excluding for the avoidance of doubt any Classic Flight Rewards) on regular scheduled flights where the Qantas flight number or the flight number of the applicable oneworld Member Airline or Airline Partner is shown on the Itinerary ('Eligible Flight').

Then further along in membership tiers section:

20.1.5 The travel required in each Membership Year to attain or retain Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One tier must include a minimum of four Eligible Flight Segments where Qantas, QantasLink or a Jetstar Airline is the Marketing Carrier. Classic Flight Rewards do not count towards the four required Eligible Flight Segments.

>>>

Read together it is made pretty clear that you can't use Classic Flight Rewards to get the Eligible Flight markers.

Any points redemption booking should not count to the required 4 flights to keep status. Unless airline is running a promotion contrary to this.

Check the Qantas Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions.

I can confirm that classic reward flights do count however there is a catch.

The catch is that you have to be a Points Club member.
