Ads making site unreadabe.

The ads on the site are making articles unreadable. Covering the text with no option to remove or hide. Its like playing whack-a-mole. Scrolling up and down the page trying to view the article before the ads pop up. It is getting ridiculous.

Then I tried to write a comment to the article. Again an ad appeared and completely covered the entire screen. With no way to dismiss. Losing all that I had typed in the comment box. Unable to return.

I understand that Executive Traveler needs sponsors ad revenue to keep the site going. But until the ads are fixed, I shall not return to the site.

Hi minimiggs, thanks for your report. A few other readers have reported the same issues and we are currently working with our ad provider to identify and stop these rogue ads.

This is definitely not the experience we want for our users. If you could please help us identify which advertisers you've seen by posting in this thread that will help us stop it.

ANZ Bank today took over my screen, but I suspect that it was not actually ANZ. Looked like a scam presentation, a very bad one at that. I will try and capture a screenshot and send.

There is an ANZ Bank ad that seems to be one of the culprits.

Slightly off topic Sid, but also what has happened to the Community section? That is one section I used to quiet enjoy engaging with, but lately they have just been a topic with nothing underneath. Can these just be removed or something to avoid clogging up the space?

Yes, I quite agree. But on rare occasions, I find that a day or two later a comment does appear, presumably from the person who created the thread. So maybe it’s an issue with the website rather than it being a spam thread.

a) set Block Pop-ups on your browser b) install an adblocker (Adblock is a good one)

We had to put some restrictions in due to a massive spam attack. We'll monitor and loosen up those restrictions over the coming weeks.
