Which airline would you recommend for a business class flight Shanghai-Beijing?

Which airline would you recommend for a business class flight Shanghai-Beijing? How does Air China compare with China Eastern?

I really like Hainan Airlines- definitely a cut above the rest. I recently took a Shanghai to Beijing flight with them, on their 787 dreamliner and it was great! Only they depart from Shanghai Hongqiao not Pudong. Hope this helps

The 787s no longer run SHA to PEK, but I do agree; the remaining Boeing Sky Interior 737s are above the rest as well, except that they don't have PTVs.

Hainan airlines is the best out of the lot. Air China and China Eastern are about the same overall, aim for a wide body aircraft for better seats.

No many choices. How about train? AFAIK there is excellent overnight train.

There are also fast trains.

I actually recommend China Eastern. MU 564 (before October 24th) runs a really good revamped flat bed from DEL - PVG - PEK. There's (limited) TV and everything. Not sure about the service though, heard bad things about it (but business class is mostly about the seat, right?).

No Alvin, business class is not mostly about the seat for a short flight such as this.

A flat bed for PVG-PEK is overkill. While nice, I'd much prefer a recliner coupled with decent in-flight (and ground) service.
