Has anyone ever booked on an American Airlines YUPP fare? Is it a confirmed first class fare, and do you earn full status credits for it?

Airreview also has an extensive 'how to' on these fares: http://www.airreview.com/BA/Tips.htm

If you are putting the points on QF rather than BA, you may find the Alaskan Airways $300 bargains up the west coast are brilliant for SCs.

It is First class so long as you fly F.

In the event of a flight disruption etc, you risk ending up in Y (in practice you can normally wait for the next flight with F availability)
