I cant confirm, but they have been seeking to reduce frequency to Australia, and BNE was apparently in the firing line for a reduction. I would be surprised if they completely exited though.
Booking has been blocked for all BNE-KUL services from 08AUG and no longer avalible, would expect to hear something official from MH soon. It sounds more credible that the rumour could be true sadly.
Under the fellow that used to run Aer Lingus, Malaysia Airlines will change its name, and that there are other big things coming, for the airline to "turn around" and start making $$$.
I believe they are also looking into reducing the number of 380s they have.
It would be similar to Air Asia X stopping flights into and out of Adelaide for "commercial reasons".
Can I just say, while it would be a pain to get to BNE - MEL - KUL, flying QF from BNE to MEL then fly EK metal with a QF flight number and earn more QF FF points and QF SC than flying MH.
Malaysia Airlines has now confirmed that its Brisbane flights will cease. Perth also looks to be reduced from 12 to 7 flights per week in the airline's own booking system:

We'll confirm it when it's known to be true – until then let's not get too caught up in rumours. :)

It could be, my point is that when we know we'll know. Would not like to see this happen though.

What happens to those of us on a MAS flight after 08AUG? I've got a flight in mid-Jan.
