How often is the premium exit at Virgin ' s Melbourne lounge closed? I'm guessing a Saturday isn't as busy as weekdays and to save costs they don't staff it during quiet periods. It's sort of a bonus selling point of the lounge. I can't see them closing the Valet entry at other lounges as they plug it so much.

The premium exit seems to be closed on weekends, but not ever during the week. Keep in mind, if you're departing from the main Virgin pier at MEL there is still the premium security line which is usually just as fast if not faster.

Weekdays only from experience. However premium lane at normal security, as Jack mentioned, is fine any time.

The exit door to security from the VA Lounge to premium exit security lane is definitely NOT open weekends, ... its blocked off with a barrier and a note on the "special" door.
