Has anyone experienced Virgin recording the details of those you guest into a lounge? I received it in Melbourne just now after guesting a colleague in. I asked how long it has been the policy. Got some spiel about a system upgrade. It was very interrogative. We didn't receive the this treatment in Sydney earlier today and I've guested people into the Melbourne lounge on at least 3 occasions in the last month and haven't experienced it.

Not sure what the is problem here - Air NZ scan everyone (including guests) at the door have done for a few years - It means that only those who should be admitted gain access - also helps them to track down tardy FF's that are slow to board.

Not so much a problem but curious to know when the policy changes to record the details of your guests. Obviously the frequent flyer's details are recorded but as stated above, I have never had a guests details recorded and wanted to know when this was implemented.

For insurance puposes, I'd say most airlines want to know who is using their lounges at any particular time.

Then my question is why has this only ever happened to me once? And has it happened to others?

I've never had guest names or information taken or asked, but I also use the self check in kiosk.
