I am travelling on SQ 228 on 22nd April and I believe this flight is the new upgraded J product. This was confirmed when selecting my seat 11K in the small J section with 8 seats in front of the galley and just behind First.

Thanks for the great answers! I know 228 is always new hard product because it connects to the Europe departures from Changi, but I want to get into my hotel in Singapore in time for a dinner meeting if poss. Maybe 238 has new? It has First, so probably new J. I call SQ :-)

If it's a 777-300ER then it should be the new product. A330 will be Regional and 777-200 may be any of the mix that they fly with.

I called SQ. It took a very long time for the agent to understand what I was asking, but she was diligent and beautifully polite in true SQ style, and after some time on hold came back and said all 777-300ER servces into MEL are now new J product; SQ207 which is currently operated by A330 will be 777-200 later in the year. I am going on from SIN on EVA 777-300ER, OZ A330 and an NH B789 so it will be interesting to compare the new SQ J hard product with a handful of other *A members (EVA will be their new(ish) J product, OZ, the old, NH the new).
