I recently bought American Airlines miles, with the presumption that i could obtain Qantas Status Credits (SC) when used. I would like to know what particular award flight category with AA enables so to occur, or do all AA award flights fail to earn Qantas SC?

All AA redemption mileage bookings will not earn status credits with Qantas. How it is you came to the assumption that it would is quite bewildering.

Actually it kinda obvious – you cannot award something on award. Only government has luxury put tax on tax like GST on fuel levies.

It's nothing to do with knowledge. A little critical thinking would suggest such an arrangement is not quite kosher. 

Hi secondislast, even classic award flights on Qantas whether purchased with AA miles or QF points fail to earn status credits.  You are certainly not going to earn QF status credits flying AA metal on a ticket purchased with AA miles.  Of award flights, you can only earn status credits on QF with Any Seat Awards.

The only award flights that will earn Qantas status credits are the very expensive Qantas Any Seat Awards that can only be purchased with Qantas points.

alaska airlines seat selection for qantas Platinum frequent flyer status

Has anybody else had the experience that you can do seat selection alaska airlines flight code share qantas and can select a seat front of cabin only to end up way down the back when checking in. Note code share with qantas flight and a qantas Platinum frequent flyer status
