Is anyone aware why 2 x A380's left Brisbane today? One was to LAX at 1pm and the other to Dubai at 4:30pm. The LAX departure was only 15min behind the delayed QF15 744 service.
Chartering an aircraft is quite cost effective if you can find enough people to fill the right aircraft, plus factoring things in like Hotel costs/time constraints, being able to make your own itinerary etc..... in this case there were 2 x A380s, so i would presume it was more effective chartering than buying tickets for everyone.
I did a quick search on this site but couldn't find it. qantassource.com.au does reference the flights being positioned in Brisbane at the expense of QF1.
No idea who chartered them - wonder how they allocate seats?

Wasn't this question asked earlier? It was some form of religious group mass-charter?
