I have 6 digit Velocity Points but I am in the process of saving up Status Credits to maintain my membership therefore I don't want to redeem points for myself, but I still need to use up those points somehow.

I have my mum registered as family pooling, and but my father has not.
We are planning to travel to Melbourne later this year and I noticed there's free seats available. Therefore may I ask can I use my points to pay for my dad's flights so me and my mum can earn status credits by buying tickets? If so, how can I do that?
Thank you.

You can redeem a ticket under your dad's name with no issues - just select 'I'm not flying' when booking.

Your mum can book a cash fare on a separate ticket. There isn't a way to combine them together.

Agree as per Happy above, however whenever I've done this (for the same reason, maintaining SP), I've contacted the velocity angels and they've linked the separate bookings to seat the parties together.

Simple to do and within velocity rules. Just click the box that says 'I'm booking on behalf of someone else' during the process.

Hey Brassy do you know if this is only for family members or is this for Friends as well? I was looking to book a ticket for my friend and his daughter

It can be for anyone; when you book with points there's a little box as you fill in details that you check to say 'I'm booking on behalf of someone else'. It then allows you to book for anyone you like.
