Just what is the point (pardon the pun) of collecting Asia Miles points when there is no possibility of using them for reward seats? They told me they could not book seats until 6 months before date of travel and then when I rang there were no seats available 2 weeks before or until 2 weeks after when I wanted to travel. Waste of time and money flying with any of their airlines.
I've been able to book seats 3 years in a row now. I usually use my Asia Miles for flying to Malaysia/HK for Chinese New Year and I haven't had any problems with booking seats to fly during that busy period.

Possibly the best FF program from Australia, best seat availability, low fees and surcharges, seats in J regularly available, bookings open 360 days prior, plus they are the best at holding reservations until your other flights become available.
Have just booked a seven flight itinerary in J across CX, JL, QF and they were brilliant. Held my first CX flights until the JL and QF were available, phoned me with booking update information and changed my route to get seats when JL and QF were not available.

Have to agree with mo88mo but you need to book at least 355 days ahead especially in Y. It's also an expensive loyalty program.
Actually Asia Miles is a free program, so not expensive at all.
Do you mean it requires lots of points? Well not expensive there either - better value than QF especially as return flights are much fewer points than two one-way flights as per the QF scheme.
Maybe expensive in terms of surcharges? Much lower than QF there too.
Like what everyone has mentioned before, as the loyalty program is very popular (due to the lower amount of miles required to fly compared to other programs out there), you really need to book way in advance especially for business class.
I've booked my Chinese New Year 2018 flights in mid February to Malaysia followed on by a trip to Japan on business class for me and the wife without any issues. Though to be fair, I booked mine the moment the flights were available (sometime in April this year).

You might have some stupid agent who is unwilling to help or just ignorant. What you need to do is HUACA (hang up and call again).

You can choose where to fly, when to fly and how much you pay. When booking award travel you get to choose two of those three things.
