I've just booked a trip in September this year and normally get off VA7 and can make a 9:00am (or approx) flight cross country. I am hearing now that the airlines are cracking down and 1 hour 55 minutes is no longer enough time to transfer, it MUST be a minimum of 120 minutes. As such, I am now left waiting for nearly 4 hours for the next flight after landing in LAX. Anyone else finding this rule in place?
Are you booking the whole trip on one itinerary? Either way I probably wouldn't worry. I can generally get off the plane in LA and through security at the domestic terminal in 40 minutes max.
if its a booked connection by the airline they have shorted connection times than if you book it as a non connecting flight even if its in the same booking number. eg. BNE-SFO on VA you can make the 9am LAX-SFO flight but booking independently, it would be too short. If you can book it as one then they will honor it.
The LAX MCT recorded in the GDS are 1.10 D/D, 1.30 D/I and 2 hours where CBP is involved (I/D, I/I)

The LAX Minimum Connection Time in The Global Distribution System (System that links travel providers together) is 1 hour 10 minutes Domestic to Domestic flight. 1 hour 30 minutes for Domestic to International. 2 hours for anything where US Customs and Border Protection are involved. Ie International to Domestic or International to International.

Yes it is all in one booking reference - apparently the airlines are enforcing this and won't even let 5 minutes less through for an earlier flight.
