hi guys, currently i am at 480 status credit and short of 120 credit to retain my Gold status. If i booked a flight with 35 status credit (double status credit turn to 70), will i be able to take advantage of the 500 status credit loyalty bonus of 50 credit to make up to 600 (480 + 70 + 50)? i had been told that the double status credit won’t count towards loyalty bonus, does it mean the normal status credit still count towards loyalty bonus, in this case only 35 status credit will count?

The T&Cs of the offer state that the Double SC won't count to the loyalty bonus. Yes, the nCredits al SC will still count.

So 480 + 35 SC gets you to 515 SC (enough to get loyalty bonus if all from QF/JQ or previous bonus status credits offers that did count towards loyalty bonus) + 35 DSC + 50 SC loyalty bonus will get you to 600.

You can monitor where you're at as the SC come in and can confirm on the QF website how far you are away now from the next loyalty bonus.

I am Q platinum and currently at 910 SC for the year. My year ends on April 30. We are planning on flying to LA on April 28, and on to NY on April 30. The current prices are about $1,500 per ticket more than what we usually like to pay to NY, I've just been waiting for next promotion (they never seem to be that far away) to

get the fare we like to pay (a bit under 8K per). Will I need the double SC promotion to get to 1,200 (and retain platinum)? Usually it doesn't both me if I'm gold or platinum if I can save a bit of money.

Does anyone know when booking via one of the discount websites (Expedia etc) if you can see what class fare you're getting? I want to get the double SC offer on an economy flight to London, but prices for the dates I want to travel have jumped right up on the Qantas website.

I can see the same flights are vailable for much cheaper on some of the discount websites but I would need them to be Saver not Sale class fares to get the points and be eligible for an upgrade...

You would have to ask the website directly what fare they're selling.

I have noticed that they all sell the cheapest fare possible (Sale) and if you do wish for a 'Saver' fare, you will need to contact them directly and request this.

Note, their Saver fare will be not be cheaper than what is advertised on Qantas' website.

I saw the double SCs offer and a $3000 Business class trip to Singapore launch around the same time. That didn't last long. Discount BC flights are now $3500 and if you want to travel on the A380 be prepared to spend close to $4000. Moral of the story, when the offers come out, get in quick. One very positive change to the double SC offer is that I received a confirmation email from Qantas that I was registered. That didn't happen in the past. That will avoid any possible disagreement on whether one has successfully registered or not. Love the double SCs.

Interesting Metoo.... I didn't get confirmation email this time but did last year. Got me worried now as I just booked 20 return trips ! Did anyone else not get a confirmation email? Not sure why you need to register for an offer open to all anyway. Just give double SC's to all bookings within the booking period.

Lawerence, it was the only one I've ever received. In the past I never had a trouble receiving double SCs with promotions. I take screen shots of the Confirmation when registering though. When I have called Qantas on double SCs they pull up the promotion and read through the eligibility criteria and confirm. Here's a copy of the email I was sent. I hope they send an email every time from now on.

You have been registered for the 'Double Status Credits on eligible flights worldwide' promotion.

You do not need to reply to the email.

For full details, refer to qantas.com/doublestatuscredits.

Retain this email for any future enquiries.

I got the email from QF that I was registered but responded to the promo from the email sent to me rather than by the QF website, I would have missed it if it wasn’t for AUSBT , all I saw was cheap fares to Singapore and deleted it, didn’t read the whole email with the double SC further down the page, got it out of the junk and responded, Thanks AUSBT

The way the QF website seems to work now is very disappointing as to clarity as to booked class - cheapest fare (in economy) just gives you that, and flexible gives you full whack Flex at a lot more money. Why can't you choose booking class on individual sectors as I am sure you used to be able? When I booked on 5Feb. there was a Sale at the time, and that seems what I got (mostly) (i.e O class (sale) to LHR via SIN on QF1). However coming back LHR to PER on B787 it shows as S - which is Saver. However the e-ticket only shows economy, the booking says Sale against everything. So I think I will have to ring them and ask whether LHR-PER is in fact upgradeable or not, as Sale fares are not obviously.

I did post them a comment post the booking that their website had been dumbed down. Booking class can be ignored by those who don't care, but this info is critical to FF mavens chasing status. They did overall quote me (I have a screensnip during the booking process to prove it) that my return fare would net me 195SC, which is mysteriously more than what you get using their so-called calculator.
