Hi guys,
Looking for some advice, I'm new to the site and trust i'm in safe hands:)

I want to fly to the Uk with my qantas points via BA rom Sydney, However as we all know, the qantas site doesn't give you the option to pick the flight or carrier you want.
Is tehre a better way to use the points on the BA website(I couldnt find it)
If I use BA I get to utilise my 600k points better than trying with Qantas. Its for myself, my wife and my boy.

Thanks again

If you go to the American Airlines website, you can do a "miles only" dummy booking for your preferred flight/s ( no need to log in and this site gives a good indication of what is available). This will show you what points flights are available ( all available one world rewards flights will come up, including BA). Then ring Qantas call centre, tell them you can't make the booking online, and give them the flight numbers you want to book and they should be able to do it for you .

Hi Mike,

I don’t know why you’d want to fly BA from SYD to LHR given it requires more points, has higher carrier charges and an inferior service when compared to all the other OneWorld carriers that cover that route (QF, CX, QR, AY). EK is also an good option that has the advantage of using the same reward table as Qantas and having plenty of seats availability.

In saying that, if you really want to fly BA, you can book it without a problem from the Qantas website. They are a fully integrated OneWorld Carrier and their flights will show on the award ticket search (see below). Ensure that you tick the “Use Points” box when searching, don’t thick the “Use money, points or both”.

Andrew:

We've explained the site's link policy to you before, and have previously asked you not to try and re-format links in an attempt to bypass the moderation filters. As a reminder, we'd ask you not to do this again: trying to circumvent the site's security software is against site policies, and repeatedly doing so would have to see us revoke your commenting privileges, which we'd rather not do. In this case, if this link had been posted in the correct format, it'd have been automatically approved as 'qantas.com' is both on our trusted site list and you're an established user: so please, with all links in future, post the actual link once, and if moderation is required, approvals are handled at the earliest opportunity.
