Amex Qantas ultimate credit card 450 credit

Have had this card for years, and was always able to use up the credit for international travels, but this year with the COVID, I don't think I will be travelling, and my 450 credit is about to expire in a week.

Any suggestions on what I should do with it?

Hi Snail, has your credit been extended previously and is now due to expire? My credit was due to expire in August and was initially extended through to December and then again until March/2021. Worst case scenario is you complete your booking next week to travel within 12 months and pick a destination likely to open up by then, such as NZ. I’m somewhat in your shoes, with $450 expiring in March/2021 and the additional $450 in August/2021 which gives me some time to observe trends before booking.

No it wasn't extended. Is there a way to extend it? I might try to talk to them tomorrow I guess. Wish me luck

So I called them and apparently they said all the credits would be extended to March next year, however it wasn't showing up in my account and had to change it manually for me and provided me a reference number in case something goes wrong again.

Sorry I didn’t see your post earlier, Snail, but I hope they sorted it out for you now. Do you have any bubble destinations in mind? Mine was extended automatically and then I called in to ask if the two vouchers (one from each membership year) could be combined in one transaction, which sadly they can’t. So when the time comes I will have to book family members separately and then try to convince QF to apply free seat selection on separate tickets for pax from same family.

Hey Vitorsyd, ya they said it's gonna take up to 8 weeks for it to show up in my account. So I guess I will just have to wait.

I wanted to go US where the majority of my family is. But I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon... If I had to choose between any potential bubble destination or FNQ, it would be FNQ for me.

Well said, Snail. FNQ if given an option would be helpful For us too because we have family in Asia and South America. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we can be reunited with our respective families. Good luck to you and stay safe!
