Earn double Qantas frequent flyer points for online shopping

Qantas is dishing out double frequent flyer points when filling your shopping cart via the Qantas Points Online Mall this week, with a solid 10 points per dollar up for grabs at David Jones, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bonds.

You’ll also collect eight points per dollar with The Iconic, Macy’s, SABA and Bloomingdales, six points per dollar at Samsung, iTunes and J. Crew and four points per dollar at eBay and the Apple Store, and more.

The double points promotion runs through to Tuesday March 31.

Earning points with the Online Mall is easy – just head to the Qantas website, login with your frequent flyer details and choose the merchant you’d like to shop with.

Just be sure you click through to their online store via the ‘shop now’ link on the Qantas Points Online Mall website, otherwise you won’t earn any points at all.

Earn even more points through your credit card

By using a points-earning credit card, you can also ‘double dip’ on points – earning once through the Online Mall, and once on your credit card spend.

Shopping with David Jones? Break out a David Jones Platinum American Express card to earn three Qantas frequent flyer points per dollar spent, or a whopping 13 points per dollar during the current promotion.

With other Australian merchants, or even David Jones if that card isn’t in your wallet, almost every Black-level American Express card issued by ANZ, the Commonwealth Bank and Westpac delivers a still-impressive 1.5 points per dollar – also yours alongside the bonus.

Macy’s, Bloomingdales and other offshore merchants also present a different opportunity: both the Qantas American Express Ultimate card and the HSBC Qantas Platinum Visa serve up two frequent flyer points per dollar on international transactions.

Just get in quick – earning double points via the Online Mall ends on Tuesday March 31 at the very precise time of 11:59pm (AEDST).

I've been using www.rewardsreminder.com to remind me to log into a shopping portal before making a purchase. It's super helpful - just pops up at the top of the screen when I visit a site that's eligible for extra points
