Emirates' connections to Spain will triple next month, as the airline adds a second daily flight to Madrid and adds a new route to Barcelona.
As the capital of the economically vital Catalonia region spanning France and Spain, business travellers heading for meetings or site visits in the region will find the Barcelona flights a timesaver over having to connect in a European hub.
For Spanish capital Madrid, a mid-afternoon Dubai departure and a late night return will add further scheduling options to your business trip.
Emirates will use Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on board all three Spain flights. Those are the same planes you'll find on most of Emirates' Australian flights, with the exception of the doubledecker A380 used on one Sydney flight.
At the very front of the 777 you'll find Emirates' first class suites, with angled lie-flat seats in a 2-3-2 business class layout in the middle.
We reviewed Emirates' 777 business class on the Sydney-Christchurch run recently, so take a look to see what you'll get.
Down the back, though, you'll find a very squashed 3-4-3 arrangement in economy. That's one seat more squeezed into every row than on most airlines' 777 economy class cabins, so traveller beware.
