Korean Air opens new first class, business class and frequent flyer lounges at Seoul's Incheon Airport Terminal 2 when the airline shifts its flights from T12 to T2 on January 18, 2018.
The First Class Lounge, appropriately enough, is restricted to first class flyers – who'll start their journey at a dedicated 'first class check-in lounge' in the terminal's public zone complete with a concierge and welcome drinks, before moving to the airside lounge proper.
Korean Air's Seoul T2 First Class Lounge is an exclusive affair with just 30 seats...
... with most of those designed for further privacy, even from your fellow pointy-end passengers.
Travellers in Korean Air's Prestige Class business class will have two Prestige Class Lounges at their disposal, located at the east and west of T2 with 200 and 400 seats respectively.
The Prestige Class Lounges are also available to members of Korean Air's top two frequent flyer tiers – Morning Calm Premium and Million Miler Club – booked in economy class.
Rounding out the T2 loungescape is the Miler Club Lounge, which is described as "a lounge exclusively for Korean Air high milers".
This is for Million Miler Club members and Morning Calm Premium members booked in business class or first class on codeshare flights.
SkyTeam partners Delta Air Lines, Air France and KLM will also operate out of T2 and will have appropriate access to the Korean Air lounges, with SkyTeam Elite Plus members able to access the Prestige Class lounges regardless of what class they're in.
The co-location of the four SkyTeam members is touted as providing a fast, seamless and time-saving travel experience for frequent flyers when it comes to transits, check-in, lounge access and boarding.
A new location-based service will send relevant information to passengers' smartphones – such as a boarding pass, location of the lounge and flight time – based on their location within the terminal.
T2 also boasts more space, additional security and check-in zones and the latest generation of screening machines, with passenger train and bus connections directly adjacent to the terminal.
However, if you're transiting between T1 and T2, allow plenty of time: Korean Air advises that the terminals "are 15~18.5km apart from each other" in terms of the connection distance and "it takes about 20~30 minutes to move between terminals".

Wow 16km apart... That's almost the difference between Sydney International and Bankstown airport.

It looks...interesting. Will have to see actual pictures with real people inside, but lounges aren't Korean Air's strong suit.

Looks nice. The old lounges are terrible, food and beverage in particular is awful. Will be interesting to see if they've improved that aspect.

Well, . . it;'s a lounge and probably better than waiting at the gate. When I first walked in I thought maybe this was the lounge for Premium Economy, since the seating and design is about that quality. The East lounge is moderately sized, has a reasonable selection of food and fast wi-fi.
