Hawaiian Airlines' Boeing 787 will take to the sky with a cutting-edge business class seat designed by none other than Boeing itself.
The Dreamliners' 'Premium Cabin' will feature the all-new Ascent business class from Boeing 's Adient Aerospace project, which offers all the mod cons including a fully-flat bed in a 1-2-1 layout with plenty of storage around the seat and the ability to convert the paired middle seats into a double bed.
Hawaiian Airlines says the seat will be "highly customized' from the Adient's current Ascent showcase model.
Avi Mannis, senior vice president for marketing at Hawaiian Airlines, says the Ascent seats will be part of "a distinctively Hawaiian cabin experience... our guests will enjoy the island-inspired comfort and warm hospitality for which we’re known, while relaxing in seats that represent the cutting edge of innovation in seating technology."
The first of ten Boeing 787-9s on order will join the Hawaiian Airlines fleet in 2021 and cover major trans-Pacific routes spearing out from Honolulu.
