Now you can share Apple AirTags: here’s how
Under the just-released iOS 17 software, you can invite others to use your button-sized wireless trackers.

Apple’s popular AirTag gizmos already enjoyed a fresh rush of popularity as flyers sought ways to track the whereabouts of their checked luggage which is all too often delayed, goes missing or sets off on its own adventure.
But since Apple launched the AirTag in early 2021, the button-sized Bluetooth trackers have only been able to be owned be owned and used by a single person.
That changed this week, with the release of the latest iOS 17 software update for iPhones allowing AirTag owners to share their AirTags with others.
Frequent flyers who’ve long been requesting AirTag sharing will welcome this feature, which will be accessible through the Find My app by selecting a specific AirTag and choosing the ‘Share This AirTag’ option.
After choosing Add Person, type a contact's name and hit the Send button. Now both you and that person will be able to see your AirTag’s location in the Find My app.
Each AirTag can be shared with as many as five people: handy for sharing a handful of trackers with family members or work colleagues.
However, Apple advises that tracking notifications will be muted, saying “everyone who shares this AirTag won’t get notified when it’s near them.”
