Les Mis

Les Mis

If today's schedule sees you spending another chilly winter Friday arvo flying out of Sydney, your experience is about to get less miserable (sorry about that awful pun).

The Qantas Club at Sydney Airport's domestic T3 terminal will host a special pop-up performance at 5pm today featuring numbers from Les Misérables.

Cast members and Helpmann Award Nominees Simon Gleeson and Hayden Tee will present three songs from the revival of the acclaimed musical, which is now wowing Sydney audiences after a successful run in Melbourne.

Qantas is the official airline sponsor of Les Mis, and the snap mini-show is the latest in a series of 'surprise and delight' pop-up events which have previously included performances by The Wiggles and Human Nature, along with special dining dishes.

>'surprise and delight'

You would think that for every customer surprised and delighted by the sudden presence of a live musical performance in the middle of the lounge, there'd be another annoyed and just wanting to get back to reading their book.

Even more so for the Wiggles.

Did anyone catch it?

I was going to walk around from the biz lounge but ended up getting an earlier flight...

I guess some guests would be annoyed (a bit of damned if they do and damned if they don't!), but at least it would be better than having to listen to idiots talking loudly into their phones or sitting around the work benches talking c$$p with their workmates (and using up valuable workspace for others!
