Aussie vocal group Human Nature put in an appearance at Melbourne Airport's Qantas Club on Wednesday November 5 as part of the airline's on-going 'surprise and delight' campaign in its domestic airport lounges.
The Sydney-born foursome, who are currently headlining a Motown-themed show in Las Vegas, played to a larger-than-expected audience of travellers delayed by a massive storm which swept through Sydney.
The pop-up pop performance was a twist on the pop-up food tastings which have to date ranged from gourmet pies and a 'classic American hot dog' to arancini balls from the Rosetta Ristorante of Qantas chef Neil Perry.
Passengers in the Qantas Club and its upmarket Business Lounge sibling were also treated to champagne for yesterday's Melbourne Cup, while the Business Lounge now has a cocktail hour from 5pm weekdays.
“We're trying to break up the monotony for people who travel all the time" Helen Gray, Qantas' Head of Domestic Product & Service, tells Australian Business Traveller.
"It's giving people variety and a little bit of fun, and putting that fun back into travel with something they're not quite expecting."
