Lufthansa opens new Senator, Business lounges at Newark Airport

Lufthansa has opened two new lounges at Newark Liberty International Airport for its Lufthansa passengers and travellers on other Star Alliance airlines.

Located opposite the SAS lounge which Lufthansa passengers have been using to date, and within walking distance to the Lufthansa departure gates in Terminal B, the separate Business Lounge and Senator Lounge spaces span a total of 470 square metres and share a common reception area.

Along with a spacious relaxation area, the bistro's selection of food and drinks changes through the day.

The design draws from Lufthansa's new lounge concept with  oak hardwood flooring, leather chairs and indirectly illuminated walls.

Claimed to cost a whopping $3.3 million, the lounges have been designed by New York architects Voorsanger (who also handled Newark's Terminal B makeover in 2000-2002).
