Malaysia Airlines cuts flights to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth

Kuala Lumpur - Male has also been cut.

It's a shame that it isn't frequency reduction but a complete axe.

Option for direct flight now would be from OOL to KUL on AAX which still runs a 5x weekly, I think.

I am pleased to say Adelaide still is there daily.

The patronage of the PER-KL on MH was satisfactory despite a massive drop during 2014. Most people just simply don't want to take this airline due to disappearance of MH370 and the shooting down of Flight 17. Most people nowadays flying Air Asia X to Kuala Lumpur to boost demand. 

Damn there was a rumor yesterday today it's a reality! 

I wonder if we may see BNE-KUL with Air Asia in future?  Watch that space!

British Airways flying to KUL from LHR....could we possibly see a tag-on flight to BNE?

Looks like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, yet both hands belong to the one CEO who's just proven that any promise made lasts for all of three weeks.

I've been on several flights between Darwin and KL with a row to myself every time. I will be expecting that to be the next route axed. 

With Virgin already doing AUH-KUL shuttles with their 777's I wonder if we could see VA fill the gap and utilise these aircraft in triangle-like pattern BNE-KUL-AUH-SYD vice-versa?

From a marketing perspective wouldn't it be so much better if MH came clean about its cuts once and for all? At the moment they are announcing different cuts every fortnight and this creates a massive amount of bad publicity and adverse customer sentiments as everyone's wondering what's next. After all, what this airline needs to rebuild is trust and confidence.

Cannot believe they cut altogether rather than reduce to 3-5 per weeks etc. they are clearly an airline in a lot of trouble and an uncertain future until things improve.

well they try to stay afloat which looks a bit difficult given the bad reputation-personally I will never fly with them again as I lost confidende in them -they abandoned the search which we Australian payed hundreds of millions fearing that the truth might come out and in case of a pilot suicide the already bankrupt airline would have been wiped out completley-if this is the attiude of an airline how do they expect us to have confidence in them flying on their planes???

I phoned Malaysian Airlines as I am booked on MH 142 in September. I was told that they have not been notified of reduced flights to Sydney. According to the agent my flight is still operating.

Well thanks for stating the obvious Grannular!! Of course they have more data then we do. It was more of a surprise of the complete scrapping of the route rather then trimming of services. When I have flown on MH to KL, while the 330 was not full it would still be upwards of 65% full.

MH or Malaysian Airline must not close down. it has to run and run. other wise so many others in the market will rise up and the malaysian national name carrier will go down. so re shaping the schedul or cutting flights is good.

in the past decade or so  many airlines had to close down because of other major or budget airlines taking passengers. malaysia must stop allowing open skys policy and let 5th froodom or 6th freedom airlines to go and find passengers from there own countries.  one day it wll happen to QF qantas too if aussies close their eyes and sleep.

Doesn't    bother   me. Wouldn't   fly  them   anyway! Stick  to  SQ  ,  QF,  Cx etc.

Ok, when it seems that Qantas wants to have you fly on every other airlines metal, I cant see why they dont use Qantas metal to fly to KUL with a codeshare agreement. With this i dont mean Jetstar either. Maybe more passengers would fly Qantas from both countries if it was avaialble!

Just flew KL-SYD this morning with MAS.  Despite job uncertainty, must say both flight over and flight back this morning had excellent service. A real testiment to the dedication of the crew that they can still provide the same quality of customer service despite all the challenges they face.

Recarro seats on A330 definetly need updating - comfortable for day flight over to KL but no real sleep on overnight home due to incline.  

Also very disappointed with state of the Golden Lounge in KLIA satelite. Despite rennovations, place looks much more tatty and less varierty of food and beverage than when I last visited in 2007!  

KLIA is a fantastic airport - super efficient and on a very human scale. QANTAS really need to get some metal flying there (codeshare) to make it a more attractive transit option on way to Europe. 

Also highly recommend Majestic Hotel suites incolonial wing in KL - complimentary driver, laundry, mini-bar, wifi and evening cocktails. Outside golden triangle but half way between there and Bangar, Mid-Valley etc and walking distance to museums, lake gardens, Central market and Merdeka Square.

Does anybody know what is happening to the newly cut A380 service out of Paris - KL ? Meaning is this A380 sold or servicing another route? 

Not only have they ceased flights from Melbourne they have also changed aircraft from KL to Paris. Booking originally to fly on A380 they have change route to a 777. As a business class passenger booked on this route in August and October, we are not happy. And upon cancelling the Melb -KL sector they then wanted us to pay for the priverlidge of selecting our replacement Time to the time we wanted instead of what they allocated.

they better fix there customer service fast also as this will be the last I use Malaysian airlines

I'm on the KUL to ADL 14th August and mas say flight is as scheduled at this stage. 

We have four tickets in late Novemeber 15 from Brisbane to Mumbai.  The tickets were issued on 23 June 15.  The suspension of BNE came in news on 24th June 15. Surely someone knew, but did not act.  Ticketing has been done via Value World agents.  The alternative offered is to fly to SYD form BNE enroute to Mumbai, with long stopover time on return journey.  As per the agents if I cancel I have to pay cancellation charge  (really??).  I understand that the airline spokesman assured full refund.  Moreover I shall get refund after 15-16 weeks.  Agent claims that thats the time they will need to recover money from Malaysian airlines.  How is this fair !!!!!.  Malaysian airlines need to use codeshare airlines to accomodate ticket holders from the same city to their destinations on same days??  The stopover city does not matter.  Qantas is codesharing with Malaysian airlines.   With this it would mean that the affected passengers have a fair go.  Malaysian airlines does not even have an email id where one can complaint or request or dicuss.  Is there an airline ombudsman for passengers like us ??  If there is then they need to wake up in the interest of the affected passengers like us.
