Been stockpiling rewards points in anticipation of Velocity’s next points promotion? The moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived – and this time it covers both credit card and hotel reward points.
From now through to October 25, Velocity Frequent Flyer is offering a lofty bonus of up to 25% on points transfers, depending on your card provider or hotel loyalty programme.
Another way to look at it: the number of points needed to snare a flight on Virgin Australia and its international airlines will be reduced by up to 25%.
In just a few clicks, you could be winging your way onto that next points-based award flight booking on either Virgin Australia or its partners such as Air Canada, Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways and United Airlines.
The promotion spans a range of participating programs, including American Express Membership Rewards and IHG One Rewards, with the applicable bonuses of:
- Card Services
- Diners Club International
- American Express (applies to American Express Platinum Charge, Platinum Business and Centurion Card members only)
- ANZ Rewards
- ANZ Business Rewards
- Commonwealth Bank
- American Express
- St. George
- Bank of Melbourne
- Marriott Bonvoy
- IHG One Rewards
- ALL Accor Live Limitless
- Choice Privileges
- Shangri-La Circle
You can claim this bonus as many times as you want until October 25, as long as you shift the minimum number of points to Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer each time.
The minimum number of points required depends on the participating partner. For example, American Express is a minimum of 2,000 points, while IHG One Rewards is 10,000.
Exclusions, terms and conditions also apply.
Velocity notes that transfers “usually take up to 72 hours to land in your Velocity account once you have transferred from your participating partner’s rewards account” – so, shortly after sending the points across you’ll be closer to making your booking or locking in your upgrade.
