Cathay Pacific goes double-daily to Brisbane, Perth
It’s now even easier to jet between Australia and Hong Kong, and beyond...
Brisbane and Perth will see doubly-daily Cathay Pacific flights to Hong Kong from this week, giving travellers more flexibility in their schedule to Hong Kong and beyond.
And the twice-daily schedule will stay that way all year around, rather than being tied to a seasonal uplift.
“We’re incredibly pleased to see increased flights for both Brisbane and Perth,” says Frosti Lau, Cathay’s Regional General Manager for Southwest Pacific.
“Every new service is an opportunity to open more doors for our customers, and we’re proud to serve as a key gateway for both travellers and freight to Hong Kong and beyond from these two cities.”
“Over the summer when travel numbers soar, Cathay Pacific will be operating over 80 weekly flights from Australia.”
That tally includes the return of seasonal flights from Cairns and, from 11 November, Adelaide.
Cathay’s modern Airbus A350, with its business class flatbeds and comfortable premium economy recliners, has become the comfortable workhorse for the majority of flights between Australia and Hong Kong, and the airline group now reaches 100 destinations from its home hub.
Inflight Wi-Fi is now free for all business class travellers and Cathay Diamond frequent flyers, and across the coming weeks this perk will be extended to premium economy passengers and Cathay Gold members.
Hong Kong continues to enjoy an Australian tourism rebound, with visitor numbers surging by 33% across January-June 2025 compared to the same period last year.
