Sydney is getting additional flights to Jakarta and Bali
Island time awaits, with Garuda Indonesia boosting schedules to the NSW capital later this year.

Sydneysiders craving Indonesian flavours and hospitality will soon have new non-stop options from the city, with Garuda Indonesia signalling plans to boost connections to both its Jakarta hub and Bali – the ‘island of the gods’ – in the coming months.
The SkyTeam member’s Sydney to Bali-Denpasar flights are first up, increasing from two to three times weekly from April 5, with an additional fourth service taking off from July 7.
GA715 will see wheels up from Sydney at 10:05am each Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with touchdown at Ngurah Rai International Airport at a cool (or should that be tropical?) 2:40pm. A Sunday service will begin from July.
Garuda’s long-range Airbus A330 features 36 lie-flat business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, giving passengers at the front a chance to stretch out for the 6 hour 35 minute duration.
When the Balinese indulgence is over, GA714 will wing its way back to Sydney at 11:40pm every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving into Sydney at 7:25am the next day. A Friday service takes off July 7.
Those hoping to explore further afield – Indonesia does have more than 18,300 islands, after all – will gravitate to Garuda’s Sydney to Jakarta service, which is set for an increase from three to four times per week, effective July 2.
From Sydney Airport, GA713 will jet off at 11:45am, arriving into Jakarta at 4:30pm. The four-times-weekly service will depart every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
The red-eye GA712 from Jakarta to Sydney will leave Soekarno-Hatta International Airport just before midnight at 11:55pm each Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Prior to their Sydney departure, business class passengers, GarudaMiles Gold and Platinum members and their SkyTeam Elite Plus equivalents have access to the new-look SkyTeam Lounge. Within, they’ll find a live-cooking kitchen, private booths, quiet zone – and more.
In addition to boosted Sydney flights, Garuda Indonesia is also adding more connections from Melbourne to both Jakarta and Bali – the former taking off as early as April 3.

Even with business class... a red eye flight sucks. Any daytime alternative is a better alternative.
