Malaysia Airlines boosts Australian A330neo flights
The advanced A330neo, with its modern business class suites, is spreading its wing across Australia.
Malaysia Airlines will continue to ramp up its Australian flight schedule this year, with the Airbus A330neo leading the change.
The modern jets with their doored business class suites made their debut to Melbourne in December 2024, and by the end of last year were already locked into three daily flights to both Sydney and Melbourne.
This month sees the A330neo spread its wings to Adelaide, taking over daily flights from the older A330 as of April 17.
Brisbane gets a mid-year boost to six flights per week from August, at which point the A330neo is expected to slot into the BNE-KUL schedule, which in turn toggles up to a convenient daily roster from late October.
Perth is also pencilled in for an A330neo upgrade in the second half of this year, at which point every Malaysia Airlines flight to Australia will be on its latest aircraft.

“Australia is a very big market for us,” says Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer for Malaysia Airlines, “and it’s the core of our backbone of growth.”
“There’s a lot of Australian traffic to Malaysia, because Australians love Malaysia, and we’re also seeing a lot more Australian transit passengers as well.”
And there’s a lot to love about Malaysia Airlines’ A330neo business class – from the additional space and seclusion of those doored private suites to the fast free Wi-Fi and the addition of USB-C and wireless charging.

There’s also Bluetooth audio streaming from the large sharp 17.3" 4K Ultra HD screen to your own headphones or earbuds.

But the benefits of the A330neo aren’t restricted to the pointy end of the plane.
Even in economy, passengers will welcome a quieter cabin, ambient LED lighting schemes and larger overhead bins boasting a 66% greater capacity for carry-on bags.
The economy seats include a 13.3" 4K Ultra HD screen with Bluetooth audio streaming plus USB-A and USB-C power.
And not to be overlooked are the economy extra legroom seats in the first three rows of the A330neo economy cabin (rows 9, 10 and 11).
The A330neo is set to become Malaysia Airlines’ flagship for all but its longest flights such as to London and Paris, which are the domain of the Airbus A350, with the KL-based carrier having recently doubled its commitment from an initial 20 jets to 40.
Deliveries of this second tranche are scheduled “between 2029 and 2031,” Malaysia Airlines says, making it “one of the largest A330neo operators in the Asia-Pacific region (and) strengthening its position as a leading premium airline in one of the world’s fastest-growing travel markets.”

When they arrive in Perth, might consider them for travel to Europe. Currently not interested with their present PER-KL Business offerings.
