New Woolworths card gives 1 Qantas point per dollar!

Woolworths and Qantas are about to raise the ‘everyday rewards’ ante with a new platinum MasterCard offering 1 Qantas frequent flyer point for every dollar spent.

The Everyday Rewards Qantas MasterCard has yet to be announced but brochures promoting the new card have started to appear at Woolworths petrol stations.

Qantas points will be uncapped, meaning there’s no limit on the number of points that can be earned using the card.

Woolworths will throw in a bonus 16,000 points for applicants who sign up by January 31st 2011 and make their first spend before March 31st.

The card will carry an annual $89 fee with the credit facility provided by HSBC and access to MasterCard’s 24/7 Concierge telephone service.

This sounds like a highly competitive addition to the points-earning plastic market. We’ll bring you more on the card as soon as we get any updates, official or otherwise!
