Qantas Online Mall recruits 16 new retail partners

Qantas is boosting its showing of shopping partners with 16 new stores added to the airline’s Online Mall: allowing frequent flyers to earn even more points when they buy goods online.

Shoppers can now earn five frequent flyer points per dollar at Fossil, Glasshouse Fragrances, Kurt Geiger and Zanui; or four points per dollar with Forever New, Oroton, Peter Alexander, Rebel Sport, Smiggle and Uniqlo.

General Pants, Kathmandu, Lenovo and L’Occitane also serve up three points per dollar, while Lorna Jane and Wiggle deliver a lower two points per dollar and take Qantas’ roster of Online Mall partners to 45, which includes other major brands such as David Jones, Apple and eBay.

Frequent flyers can also earn points twice when paying with a points-earning credit or debit card (such as Qantas Cash) – once from the merchant via the Online Mall, and again from the credit card payment.

Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant said that Qantas offers “well over 15,000 opportunities to earn points as part of your normal day-to-day activities: from using a credit card, dining out at great restaurants, playing golf, through to filling up your car with fuel and of course shopping.

“All of these things, that you were probably going to do anyway, can earn you Qantas Points,” she added.

Qantas Frequent Flyers who make a purchase of $5 or more via the Online Mall before September 21 2015 will also automatically go into the draw to win a shopping trip to London, Los Angeles or New York.

Along with two free return economy flights to the any of those destinations, the prize also includes A$5,000 in Qantas Cash spending money and 400,000 Hilton HHonors points that can be exchanged for at least five free nights at most Hilton, Conrad and Waldorf Astoria hotels.

I'm afraid it would take a lot to convince me you could ever get a good deal through Qantas, judging by their points-based offering.
