Qantas trials free iPads in business lounges

In brief: Qantas is expanding its allegiance to Apple by offering travellers the free loan of an iPad before their flight.

The program is currently limited to the Qantas Business Lounge at Sydney domestic airport, where a dozen first-generation iPads are available to guests as part of what a Qantas spokesman described to Australian Business Traveller as a "trial" service.

In October last year Qantas replaced Windows PCs in all its Australian domestic airport lounges with Apple iMacs, although these have been set up for dual-boot so they can run Windows 7 instead of Mac OS.

Several other airlines already provide iPads to their lounge guests, among them Cathay Pacific and Finnair.

I see the desire for Apple to keep sponsor the QF lounge network as most travellers can afford their Apple products - what however is much more important to all airline lounges is a good reliable, robust and fast wifi network as in my experiance lounge users BYOD.
