Qatar Airways goes daily on Edinburgh flights with Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Qatar Airways is ramping up its flights from Doha to Edinburgh next year to a daily service using its fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

Bumping up from the current five-times-weekly runs, May 1 2015 sees QR27/28 as the perfect connecting services for Melbourne- and Perth-based flyers, regardless of which day of the week they're travelling.

After a stopover of 1.5-3 hours in Doha, passengers from these cities can jump on board QR27 for Edinburgh. Wheels-up at 7:45am, it reaches the Scottish capital at 1pm that afternoon.

On the return journey, QR28 takes to the Scottish skies at 2:30pm for an 11:30pm arrival into Doha that evening – again with amble time to transit to both Melbourne and Perth.

Victorian residents have a mere 1hr 20m between flights, while those from the mining capital have a longer break of 2.5 hours – ample time to freshen up at Qatar's new Al Mourjan Business Lounge.

Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn points and status credits on Qatar Airways flights from Melbourne and Perth to Doha and beyond through the airlines’ mutual partnership in the global Oneworld airline alliance.

Qatar Airways began flying to Edinburgh in May this year.
