Thai Airways to resume Boeing 787 Dreamliner Perth-Bangkok flights

Thai Airways will resume its Boeing 787 flights between Perth and Bangkok from January 17 2015 as the five-times-weekly TG483/484 service.

Making its debut on the route – and to Australia – in September of this year, Thai's Dreamliner was quickly withdrawn in October in favour of an Airbus A330 to the Western Australia capital.

A spokesperson for the airline confirmed the upcoming aircraft swap to Australian Business Traveller, although advised that its schedule beyond March 28 2015 was yet to be finalised.

However, the Thai Airways website currently shows the Dreamliner on all Perth flights through late next year:

From Perth, TG484 prepares for take-off at 9:15am, arriving in the Thailand capital at 3:15pm on the same afternoon.

On the return, TG483 is wheels-up at 11:55pm and touches down in Perth at 7:50am the following morning.

The Dreamliner is fitted with 24 seats in Thai's Royal Silk business class that convert into fully-flat beds, and can accommodate 240 passengers in economy.

Thai expects to have four Boeing 787s to its fleet by year's end with two more to follow in 2015. These will be joined in 2017 by a pair of the larger longer-range Boeing 787-9s.

All eight of Thai's Dreamliners will be leased on a 12 year basis from aircraft leasing specialist International Lease Finance, which is Boeing's largest customer for the 787 with 74 planes on order.

Perth travellers can also jet off on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to New Zealand, with Air NZ's Boeing 787-9 now flying between Auckland and Perth.
