Qantas brings back Status Credit earn on Classic Flight Rewards
Jun 30, 2026, 01:09 PMOfficially it's more like a co-branded card, eg Westpac Qantas, which is a 'partner' card issued by the bank. A 'branded' credit card is one which only carries the airline logo, Qantas in this case, and not the logo of the issuing bank for example.

Qantas brings back Status Credit earn on Classic Flight Rewards
Jun 30, 2026, 12:46 PMThe article very clearly says this will be a "partner credit card", so not a Qantas-branded one. That's actually surprising, I thought this would make a perfect benefit for something like the Qantas Platinum card, but I suppose Qantas will use this feature to squeeze a better deal out of Amex or ...

Qantas scraps plans for London first class lounge
Jun 30, 2026, 12:16 PM"The existing lounge is too small with the current number of Qantas flights and the problem will on be exacerbated in the future. The grand staircase and oversized bar take up about a third of the floor space." Did you not actually read the article? Qantas is increasing the LHR lounge's capacity ...

Qantas temporarily closes LAX first class lounge
Jun 30, 2026, 12:10 PMMEL isn't going to lose first class, and it's not going to lose the first class lounge. Sure, MEL will be without the A380 for a while form later this year, but who knows what 2027 will bring? And the A350s with first class will be flying out of MEL at some stage too, either as a replacement for ...

Qantas Baggage handlers - shocking video
Dec 06, 2022, 12:24 PMSurprised nobody has posted about this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcP6NeoQCHgThis is shocking behaviour and seems like a result of the outsourcing of key operations. People's luggage should have rights and it's disappointing how airlines treat them as throwaway items.

How do you research your trip?
Dec 15, 2021, 11:50 AMA good question, how do we research flights? If there are a lot of options, maybe a destination I'm not familiar with or which has no direct flights. Google Flights really helps to get your head around the options. Then I'd consider which airline gives me loyalty benefits, which has the better bu...

Layover in Singapore (not transit)
Dec 15, 2021, 11:44 AMI agree with David's points above, a one-night stopover simply isn't worth it in this current environment. The old days, the pre-COVID days, absolutely it could be nice to break up the trip, stay at a hotel not too far from Changi and have dinner at that East Coast Lagoon food village. But these ...
