Qatar Airways cuts Australian superjumbo flights
Jun 23, 2025, 05:41 PMThey do not. The ex VA773’s are on other QR routes but not Australia. QR fly their QSuite fitted aircraft here on both QR and VA flights. Not saying there couldn’t be a last minute swap but highly unlikely in my experience

Virgin Australia lounge access for Doha flights
Apr 17, 2025, 05:24 AMIs it just me but why does VA always develop these complicated arrangements for international FF benefits? You have to invest too much time and energy to understand what you get depending on too many factors, too often. You've got to be constantly prepared to argue the toss with airline/lounge re...

Air India cuts Melbourne flights
Feb 07, 2025, 05:21 PMAgree. If the route was a stellar performer they’d find a way to not suspend it in the first place. I’d say it’s likely marginal so this could be the first step before possibly ceasing it altogether

Virgin Australia reveals new international 777 flights
Dec 04, 2024, 05:16 AMGiven the article says 'a 412-seat count accords with the non-upgraded 777s which have 24 older business class seats' and 'arranged in a 2-2-2 layout' I think it is safe to assume the VA flights are going to be operated by what QR term "MiniPods" on the AeroLOPA website - an inferior 777 product ...

VA Business Class
Jan 28, 2021, 10:03 PMI’ve done 3 trips in 4 weeks with VA from BNE to CNS twice and once to TSV. My first trips since Feb last year.Things have changed and COVID is being used as an excuse I feel, for below average service and woeful food offering both onboard and in the lounge. It all feels very down market.On...

Velocity: Are you taking the emergency exit yet?
Oct 28, 2020, 10:52 AMNot exiting yet but I am watching carefully. I've got a flight to CNS with them at Christmas and to be honest, had it not been a travel bank credit, I probably would have flown QF - the costs were comparable. I will however use up my VFF points in rapid succession early next year and have started...

Virgin Australia complimentary drink policy change
Jan 08, 2020, 03:51 PMI am typically a fan of Virgin but I travelled CNS-BNE last week with VA in Business Class and the meal they served up was terrible - overcooked and dry lamb pide - it bordered on uneatable. Prior to this, I'd never had a bad meal on VA in J. Hopefully not a sign of things to come?
