The EY lounge at MEL is too good for me and makes me feel uneasy. I'd prefer SQ's lounge where everything is decent and you still have your personal space to relax.

When I had the chance to decide either upgrade to platinum or pool my scores to my wife for her gold status, I chose the later because, indeed, platinum status gives members not too much from a gold status.Because VA used to be a budget carrier, maybe they don't expect many actual platinum member...

It doesn't worry me too much since the "public lounges" at major Chinese airports don't have too much to expect. The only thing I care is the onward lounge at hkg since the hkg airport isn't transit friendly and the gap is usually more than 3 hours because then relatively infrequently flights ope...
