Qantas now offers confirmed upgrades, at a price...
Jun 12, 2026, 05:36 PMI (finally) reach Lifetime Gold next week. I never fly QF business beyond New Zealand these days because the product is stupidly overpriced and the aircraft old and unimpressive. I retain Platinum through DSC offers (I'm retired and self-funding) because of the Sydney and Melbourne First Cl...

Qantas now offers confirmed upgrades, at a price...
Jun 12, 2026, 05:29 PMYou still get champagne on China Eastern, but you have to ask for it and it's a bit hit and miss. They also run out of wine at times. And yes, you get a lie-flat bed but there's not a lot of room in their suites. I've flown with them several times because the value is hard to beat, but then you e...

And now a single champagne from an unknown brand instead of its previous three-choice offering from established champagne houses. Seriously Qantas, and you want to retain our loyalty?...

It's a slightly shabby old Sheraton that's right beside the airport that has a wonderful atmosphere and...

Jakarta transit with Indonesian visa-waiver for Australians
Mar 21, 2019, 11:58 AMWe're transiting Jakarta for 24 hours in August and September on the way to/from Europe and staying at a near-airport hotel. I see from the Indonesian Embassy website we don't need a visa; does that just mean we go straight to immigration and get a Visa Exemption Stamp in our passports on arrival?
