the best offline map app is maps.medownload all the maps you need via wifi for free. has the same functionality as apple and google and is very accurate and up to date.seems to covers every country in the world

New Brisbane Qantas International lounge

spent many hours at all hours in the Bris Qantas international lounge and whilst it can get crowded (let's be honest most lounges do these days) I've always had decent food and range of drinks available. it's far superior to the old lounge. Staff as always are very helpful.
Options if you're about to just miss retaining Qantas Platinum

QF renewed my Platinum in the past when I fell short by a few hundred credits. I'm also life Gold and Platinum for 9 of the past 11 years
Q Tags are useless on domestic to international transfers

I have flown over a 100 flights international and many with domestic connections and never had any problem with the Q tags. Mind you I always get a normal bag tag put on as well for the international sectors.
