This is interesting and confusing as the Velocity App explicitly states "We’re giving you the chance to boost your Status with Double Status Credits, when you activate and book an eligible flight with Virgin Australia before 30 October 2023, and fly before 31 December 2023."Which means...

"a DSC offer cheapens everything." that's because it does from every SC value marketing metric! 

Great way to devalue the SC proposition and dare I say it the Virgin Brand as a whole. The features and supposed benefits of Platinum are being diminished by the day let alone buy a business class seat! Oh and by the way add family pooling of SC to the above. 

Status should be restricted to those who actually fly-adding far more value to those who achieve in their own right.  FF points different matter.

Would love to see a synopsis of the research that they keep alluding to.  I participated and it would make interesting reading to see how they have interpreted the results.
