• I actually love the apartments. Lots of space, novelty shower etc. At least with the bed your legs aren’t  jammed into a tiny footwell.

  • My wife and I just flew syd-dfw-rdu and really enjoyed the flight schedule. Get on board and have 4-5hrs to relax/work before getting a really good sleep in. Landed in Raleigh at around 930pm which is lateish but doable with only a 2.5hr flight from dfw rather than the much longer flight from lax

  • Well I assume that has nothing to do with todays qantas release but well done regardless! Make sure you are on the right emirates plane to the USA because some of their cabins have 3 seats in the middle and are hardly worth it.

  • Well it is true that they released quite a few. Not sure about  non USA destinations but considering on expertflyer the numbers of qantas seats usually equals zero there was a lot available today. Still see 4 biz and one f on certain days SYD to LAX in november fwiw

  • I have very few Qantas points and attribute all of my miles to AA. Its much cheaper to use for QF flights and you achieve all the status.I had to use chat through AA but in the last hour booked return flights from SYD to SFO returning from LAX in biz in August for two people. 320k AA miles and ab...

  • Good luckWamula. I think AA is a pretty decent program and has access to all of the seats that Qantas and BA have at a saver level. Perhaps one thing relevant with remaining with the airline you fly the most is advanced seat selection. This type of benefit often doesnt come with one world status ...

  • And why ba?! Flights way more expensive using points than aa with bigger surcharges. Why do Australians think that where you are based matters for your airline loyalty?

  • Lol why anybody would bother with Qantas status is beyond me. Just sign up for American Airlines!!! Would love to know one reason why you’d put points and status into wantas instead of American. 40k aa miles for biz from Australia to Asia and 80k to USA. With minimal fees

I am not necessarily talking about the availability of awards rather using much cheaper currencies to book these flights. I keep all my points at a card level eg amex and then distribute them to the best program. I am an American Airlines platinum and they offer redemptions at a far better rate (...

Nice to use those QF points and find a nice redemption! Dollar per point saved very nice. However Aussies unfortunately are beholden to Qantas and spend an inordinate amount on redemptions. For eg I am flying with my wife in biz return in March 23 from Sydney to Singapore and used American miles...
