I don't think anybody can predict if VA will still be around in October/November. It will all depend on how quickly the travel restrictions are lifted and also how quickly people begin flying again.

This can't be done online, you have to call BA or the agent you booked through and have them do this manually.

Very clever, Mr Scurrah. Bundle your $1.4bn loan into a bigger $5bn package for the entire aviation sector including Qantas. Stops anybody, eg Alan Joyce, complaining about a Virgin bail-out because Qantas stands to scoop up at least $1-2bn of this package as well, and no way will AJ turn that d...

Every airline right now is looking to save their money, not spend it. And nobody transits at London City, they just fly in and fly out. It's a very easy airport to get through and most passengers arrive not too far ahead of the flight, so the airport cafe generally does them fine. I think BA coul...

Very glad to hear this, and makes the bloggers who were claiming the QF747s had been retired look a bit stupid. I hope QF can give this old lady the farewell she deserves. I would like to see a few domestic 747 legs like SYD-PER and maybe SYD-MEL, SYD-BNE. It would be an amazing atmosphere! Fl...

This sounds like a great trip, and it's a good example of when Oneworld lounge access based on your frequent flyer status comes in so handy! My advice would be:* Melbourne: Qantas first lounge. No contest!* Narita: JAL first class lounge. This has recently been renovated, I have heard it can get ...

FYI, Qantas has several more domestic Boeing 747 flights lined up for the end of this year and early next year.* SYD-BNE, QF524 on 9 Nov 2019* BNE-SYD, QF529 on 11 Nov 2019* SYD-ADL, QF743 on 23 Nov 2019* ADL-SYD, QF736 on 25 Nov 2019* SYD-MEL, QF417 on 31 Dec 2019* MEL-SYD, QF438 on 1 Jan 2020* ...

As mentioned, Qantas stopped flying to Dubai last year when it switched back to Singapore. For Oneworld I'd suggest Sri Lankan ex-Melbourne or Cathay Pacific via HKG.

I believe these are domestic legs before Antarctic flights, the actual flight details from that website linked are:Sydney – Adelaide QF743 SYD1840 – 2015ADL 744 23NOV19QF736 ADL1235 – 1500SYD 744 25NOV19Sydney – BrisbaneQF524 SYD1200 – 1230BNE 744 09NOV19QF529 BNE120...

I don't think there'd be the numbers to support a dedicated Qantas lounge, and space is already very tight at SFO's international terminal. BA will have its refurbished SFO lounge open at the end of this year and I'd like to think that Qantas will use this like it did in the past, because it offe...
