• I think Virgin got 'outed' when ET broke the story, maybe they intended to try and not make much fuss about it, just like Qantas has done by not even revealing the extent of its schedule. But this is just smart by both airlines to conserve cash, especially when almost nobody is flying.

  • I don't think his statement has been misinterpreted, he's just been quoted in the heading saying exactly what he said on the phone call. It's amazing when you think about it, so few routes, people living near the airport must be loving the serenity! LOL

  • I am not the first to suggest this but Virgin should really consider just becoming a great domestic competitor against Qantas and Jetstar. Forget about the USA, maybe try to get Delta as a partner on codeshares. Forget about Asia. Forget about NZ or just run a handful of flights to the key destin...

  • Yum! There are some interesting ingredients in here, who'd have thought 'lemon juice'? You should try to get recipes for other 'signature' dishes and drinks too.

  • Great advice, thanks Chris and ET. I hope the airlines really extend the validity of their travel vouchers because a lot of people will simply not be rushing back to travel, it will depend on where they intended going to and if that destination is still considered 'safe'. A lot of companies will ...

  • This sounds like a great trip, and it's a good example of when Oneworld lounge access based on your frequent flyer status comes in so handy! My advice would be:* Melbourne: Qantas first lounge. No contest!* Narita: JAL first class lounge. This has recently been renovated, I have heard it can get ...

  • FYI, Qantas has several more domestic Boeing 747 flights lined up for the end of this year and early next year.* SYD-BNE, QF524 on 9 Nov 2019* BNE-SYD, QF529 on 11 Nov 2019* SYD-ADL, QF743 on 23 Nov 2019* ADL-SYD, QF736 on 25 Nov 2019* SYD-MEL, QF417 on 31 Dec 2019* MEL-SYD, QF438 on 1 Jan 2020* ...

  • As mentioned, Qantas stopped flying to Dubai last year when it switched back to Singapore. For Oneworld I'd suggest Sri Lankan ex-Melbourne or Cathay Pacific via HKG.

  • I believe these are domestic legs before Antarctic flights, the actual flight details from that website linked are:Sydney – Adelaide QF743 SYD1840 – 2015ADL 744 23NOV19QF736 ADL1235 – 1500SYD 744 25NOV19Sydney – BrisbaneQF524 SYD1200 – 1230BNE 744 09NOV19QF529 BNE120...

  • I don't think there'd be the numbers to support a dedicated Qantas lounge, and space is already very tight at SFO's international terminal. BA will have its refurbished SFO lounge open at the end of this year and I'd like to think that Qantas will use this like it did in the past, because it offe...
