I've heard that the number of points is somehow tied to the member's expiry date. GoPies, when do you and your wife's membership years end?

Qantas should have let QFF members choose their make-up gesture, eg $100 flight voucher which is issued as a normal travel credit without all these conditions, OR an equivalent number of Qantas points, OR a decent whack of status credits. Something for everyone.

If it's $50 which is part of the Qantas Apology package and they are crowing about it, then I care because I want my $50 AND I want to be able to use it.

Sure, Qantas first class isn't in the same league as Emirates or SQ, but it's still pretty good in my experience. The first lounges are great, I don't have a problem with the 'open suite' design, love the bedding, and the crew are always top-notch. I do think the menu needs a rethink, it's a bit ...

+1 for those GaN chargers. Mine is smaller than the one that came with my MacBook Air but it's rated for full power plus it has USB ports for charging other devices. Also I bought a 'multi-plug USB cable' which has three leads for outputting to Lightning, USB-C and micro USB, so there's less cabl...

This sounds like a great trip, and it's a good example of when Oneworld lounge access based on your frequent flyer status comes in so handy! My advice would be:* Melbourne: Qantas first lounge. No contest!* Narita: JAL first class lounge. This has recently been renovated, I have heard it can get ...

As mentioned, Qantas stopped flying to Dubai last year when it switched back to Singapore. For Oneworld I'd suggest Sri Lankan ex-Melbourne or Cathay Pacific via HKG.
