I agree with most others here, this review pretty much mirrors my experience of Qantas first class. The seat is still a good one overall but is showing its age, the bedding is out of this world, but the meals are closer to an elevated business class rather than being really first class. I know th...

Very good news, I really don't like having to do an overnight trip in both directions. It means I arrive on the first day of a business trip not feeling anywhere near my best, and then the last day drags because of the late flight back to Sydney and I land the next morning once again not at my be...

I agree Bevan, too many people are too eager to whinge and criticise even before the lounge is open, just going off concept images. And Nestor is a star, as are so many of the Qantas lounge people in Singapore. I always get a lovely warm welcome from Shirley and Hun-Li if she's there, and Ronald...

On the Super Wi-Fi jets it's actually very good, but the A380s for example are woeful, you're better off not even trying to use WiFi when it's so unreliable. This is when a free 60 minutes comes in handy because you can try the service and determine if it's worth paying for. Anyway very good news...

Staff in our Tokyo office fly JAL to Seattle, I never thought about JAL from Sydney but it seems to make sense! I usually fly Qantas via LAX but JAL would certainly be a good option now that I've re-qualified for QFF Platinum.

Adding to AsiaBizTraveller's suggestion of an eye mask, I use one of the CX ones from their first class amenity kit, it's very comfortable, and I have a calming sleep-inducing pillow spray which I use at the hotel to help me sleep, so I spritz just a little of this onto the bottom of the mask nea...

I've flown Cathay Pacific's A350 and B777 to HKG and I can tell you that the A350 is so much quieter! I also felt a lot better on arrival, as the A350 has a lower 'effective altitude' in the cabin that's more like 6,000ft above sea level compared to the B777's 8,000 feet, this is similar to the B...

I'm flying China Southern to London and wanted to take advantage of the 72 hour visa waiver to spend time with a supplier near there and another contact at Shenzhen but also wanted to take the new fast train to Hong Kong to visit our regional distributor. But, can I leave China to go to HK and th...

I 'm now flying CX a bit around Asia and I'd say at half my flights from HK are in regional business class, although this include Cathay Dragon which uses the same seat for its own business class. Nothing really to complain about, as Brandon says the seat is a bit dated in terms of storage, or la...

I will admit to being a fan of Pam, ie diazepam or temazepam, which is available under prescription for insomnia. Diazepam is also known as valium of course. Very effective within 30 minutes.
